MANOR FARM NEW PROPOSALS
12 February 2012

At a well attended a special planning meeting on Thursday 9 February 2012 in the Village Hall the Parish Council heard several members of the public express their views on the latest application from Pye Homes for a second phase of developemnt on the Manor Farm site.

Whilst there was support for sympathetic expansion of the village in the context of the "limited infill" planning guidelines these proposals were considered to be unacceptbale and the Parsih Council has objected to them.  After their initial plans were rejected Pye Homes are now proposing to retain the old farmhouse but convert it into five dwellings, with a further ten houses taking the Manor Farm estate up to thirty dwellings.

Speakers were pleased to see plans to restore the old farmhouse but expressed concerns about traffic, parking, poor architectural design and the complete failure of Pye Homes to engage with residents or the Parish Council.

Pye Homes has had a difficult few years financially and have recently seen  management changes.
